"Next time you want to introduce someone to Star Wars for the first time, watch the films with them in this order: IV, V, II, III, VI

Notice something? Yeah, Episode I is gone."

Interesting premise and an entertaining read. I may try it sometime. wink.gif

That was great! I do believe I pretty much agree with the whole idea. I also agree with the GF in the update section wondering how the heck Leia could remember her mother?

Thanks for the link. smile.gif

I actually like Episode 1.

I can get through Clones and Sith is unbearable for me.

I'd go for the noted Ernst Rister order: 4,5,1,2,3,6

I agree as well about Leia and her mother momories. I always found it strange Obi Wan never remembered the droids after all that time together!!!

I've always understood it two ways.....one, The Force somehow allow Leia to have memories of her mother. I've also heard, and personally endorse, that Leia was referring to her adoptive mother who was always sad because she knew Leia had a twin and the story behind it all. And I've also always heard that Ben Kenobi was faking not knowing the droids.

Interesting order, I think im gonna introduce Star wars to the kids this way.

I actually had an idea once to make a Godfather 2 cut of the Star wars movie.

Here's an even better way to watch Star Wars...watch Episode IV, then a few years later V, then a few years later VI. Then stop. smile.gif

Screw that, episode one is worth watching for the Obiwan Maul fight alone... the pod race is also pretty badass for HT AQ experience.

As in the original trilogy without all the....stuff? As far as I know there is only one dvd with, if I'm not mistaken, 2.0 sound, included in an enhanced trilogy set. I actually have it, unopened in a box in my basement. It's in a collectors tin with, I believe, the photo of an animated Luke pointing his blaster forward as if at you. Most likely source IMO, ebay.

This is the set that came out on dvd that included the theatrical versions as a 'bonus' but unfortunately the theatrical cuts were in non-anamorphic widescreen and with just 2.0 DD sound.

I've got the original theatrical release.. on VHS. I bought it when I heard it was the last chance because the newest VHS version and anything after that would be the "new improved" which seems wrong in so many ways.

I am reminded of the first time I saw the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeve on TV with all the "new never before seen" added footage. The version where they add all the disastrous things that happen before Superman reverses time by making the world turn backwards (really? he can do that? don't get me started) But I digress. What bugged me was showing the scene where water appeared in a dry creek bed and all the Indians rejoiced (or something like that). All I could think was "well, he reversed all the disasters but I guess those poor Indians are without water again.

Oh great and powerful director, just because you can, doesn't mean you should! cool.gif
