I noticed laserdisc forever in your quote. I don't know if you've ever watched The Regular Show, but there's a SPECTACULAR episode called The Last Laserdisc Player.

The Blu-ray from Olive Films looks like a ratty old theatrical print coated in tons of dirt and scratches. Hugely disappointing.

That's a shame. It's one thing if the print is in bad shape, it's another if you can tell there was just no effort put in the transfer.

LOL! One of the things I love about the show is that theres' a lot of references to the 80's and 90's that I get to explain to my 11 yr old son. Laserdisc went like this:

Me: Laserdiscs were like really big bluray's. They were awesome for the time, but never got popular.
Son: How big?
Me: Like Albums
Son: What's an album?
Me: Sigh...

Now that you posted the second image and research is allowed, I can say that this is International House (1933).

That's not a posted rule, I thought it was always 48hrs for research. But anyway, yes that's it.

An interesting film in many respects, not the least of which is the fact that it obviously predates the Hays Code. Partly because of that it was unavailable to the public for close to 50 years, except for sporadic art house and college showings. It was a fun movie, in the day, to go watch while under the influence of whatever.
The cast is also worth noting, which includes:
W.C. Fields
George Burns
Gracie Allen
Rudy Vallee
Cab Calloway
Bella Lugosi

Actually, if you check page one where Bill posted the rules, one of them says this:

"If the poster of the challenge begins offering clues or additional images, we judge the 48 hours have expired, regardless of the clock. Research is allowed."

So, therefore it most definitely is a posted rule, otherwise, I wouldn't have researched it.

Either way, thanks for the challenge it looks like an interesting film.

Correct!

A guild of ancient assassins get their instructions from the Loom of Fate.

Sequels will feature the Magic 8-Ball of Destiny and the Fortune-Telling Weight Scale of Doom.
