Killer dogs on an island thriller. At the time I thought it forgettable, and in fact I remember little about it now. Unless you are an obsessive Michelle Rodriguez fan, I'd say skip it.

Your expert misdirection had me going through the wrong Michelle Rodriguez titles; the car pic, the boat pic. So I needed hints. I'm a Michelle Rodriguez fan, but not a "rabid" fan hehe. The dog pic clinched it.

I knew little of the plot going in but the movie turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The story starts out in an awkward fashion and for a while you're not sure how it's going to play out or if you're going to stick with it. Fortunately the story picks up speed, some of it told in a flash-back fashion which eventually leads back to the beginning of the movie. There is much more music than I was expecting and I thought the songs were nicely done, Knightley does her own singing and guitar work. The film was directed by John Carney and released in June 2014. I'm a fan of another Carney independent film - Once (2007). Begin Again is listed as a musical comedy-drama and it hits all of those points. I recommend the film if this is a genre that interests you. 8/10.

We were pleasantly surprised as well. A harmony of genres rather than the cacophony it could have been.

Well, it's a little better than the DVD. That's as much as I can say for it. Clearly a very old transfer. Could use a lot more care and attention.

Yeah, and with the dog lying down on the middle of that street.

Is that a baby in the right background sitting on the dirt? ...Or a very young child perhaps?

And on the left background who's sitting there on his chair? ...Don't look like Clint to me.

...The cemetery in the background, just before the mountains.

...And a sign: EA ...Maybe the restaurant; EAT. ...Looks like something is cooking too; smoke from the chimney.

I thought I might have seen a chicken too; but on closer view, I think not.

And whoever made the wagon tracks was either driving a slalom course, drunk or chasing a snake.

Dang. I wasn't trying to be obscure, but I suspected no one would get this. I'd never heard of it until it was mentioned on a commentary track and I put it in my queue from ClassicFlix.
