Wrong gangster flick.

That WAS the criminally underrated, recently deceased Alex Rocco, but it's from Get Shorty.

Nice tribute, Bill.

Alex Rocco, 1936--2015, uncredited in Get Shorty...

Our ever sneaky host knew there was a back rub scene with Moe in Godfather, hence the ever present "traps for the unwary". I always seem to underestimate the sneakiness.

Ah yes, knew I'd seen that shot somewhere.
I wondered if anyone else had noticed Rocco's passing. What an impressive filmography he has.

This was still hot on the heels of Pulp Fiction, so he was basically playing the same character. Besides, it also had Gene Hackman, Rene Russo and Danny DeVito and a great screenplay.

Released May 15, 2015. Starring Michael Fassbender and the up and coming young Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee who will be seen again next year in X-Men: Apocalypse. Also Ben Mendelsohn.

Filmed in New Zealand by first time writer and director John Maclean. New Zealand serves as a suitable stand-in for the American West, great vistas. The movie itself is not a reinvention of the American western but rather as it is envisioned by someone outside of this country. It's different in a very entertaining way and I highly recommend it as a one-time rental or as I saw it - streaming on Netflix Amazon Prime.

Correct.
It still holds up really well. First film appearance for Struthers and for Fanny Flagg.

By golly, that's Alan Ormsby in Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1972?). The first zombie movie I watched as a tyke.

Ormsby has had an interesting career.

Most wanted on Blu: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Arsenic and Old Lace, Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey, The Black Hole, The Border, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, A Face in the Crowd, Flashpoint (1984), Lil' Abner, Moby Dick (1956), Phantasm, Pink Floyd - The Wall, Prince of the City, Talk Radio, Village of the Damned (1960), Hammer Horror films, Val Lewton RKO productions, Universal Horror sequels

Hrumph. I thought this would be more challenging. Striped pants give it away?

Ormsby wrote the screenplay for Cat People (1982) and had a monster makeup book for kids in the 1970s.

Review: Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (1973).

Yes, the wardrobe for this film is as unforgettable as Ormsby's performance! I tried to watch his "Deranged", but only made it half way despite the always watchable Roberts Blossom.

How about a location challenge? This house is listed on IMDb as being used for four different films, so four possible correct answers.

EDIT: Kilgore has found this mansion has been used for at least nine films, so nine possible correct answers. (He's also graciously leaving the challenge open - this is a gentleman's game.)

Bill, is it OK to give one point for each correct answer?

Hmmm... once the research period is up then one person (*cough* Kilgore) can get all the remaining points. Shall we say no research allowed this time?

I can only make a wild guess: CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF. No? Too yankee, right...

With nine possible points, I'm fine with whatever rules you'd like for this particular challenge.

Sorry, no Dame Judith in this house

As I told V'ger, I won't be guessing in this one. I had no idea what movies were involved, so I decided to check into it anyway. Once I discovered what building it was and how many movies were involved, I PM'ed V'ger to let him know. Whether research is allowed or not, I won't be participating, just based on this. In fact, I'd be shocked if people guessed any of these without research. It's a tough challenge.
