David Cronenberg is sometimes a difficult director to penetrate. SCANNERS was my first of his. Some of his films, it's been years later when I start having epiphanies of understanding.

He turned 73 last month. Wow. I hope I look that good when I'm his age (21 years from now, yikes).

The Criterion Collection release of VIDEODROME (link to Bill's review) contains the following, easily worth the price of the set:
  • Camera (2000), a short film starring Videodrome’s Les Carlson, written and directed by Cronenberg

Did my answer help you? Please like my post if did; I can use the cosmic brownie points. :)
New here? Please read FAQs and forum stickies. They will save you time when you ask the forum community a question….

Since 48 hours are up and research is allowed, I'm going to say that's Sarah Gadon and the movie is probably... Belle?

Dracula Untold (2014) with Luke Evans.

Mrs Dracula is played by Sarah Gadon, who also appears in my previous challenge, Maps to the Stars, as the ghost-Mom standing in the tub.

Marlon Brando in The Nightcomers. Other than Brando's performance, I don't recall this movie being that great.

Correct! That's the wrong end of a shotgun he's holding in the photo.

Do you think this is more or less obscure than Night of the Following Day?

You are correct. Just out from K L and about time too. A pretty good transfer as well.

I think that is "1984", the version made in 1984 with John Hurt and Richard Burton.

I'm remembering the book, not the movie, but the answer to the equation would be "Whatever the Party says it is".
