Not-quite-a-review at: Being John Malkovich (1999).
Haha, did you see the recent CRACKED video? It reminded me that the scene at the side of the freeway was allegedly a goof. Extras had been hired to drive by, and apparently some young ‘uns smuggled some brewskis onto the filming location, getting a buzz on. An extra leaned out of the car window, yelled at Malkovich, and threw a beer can at his head. Ding! Direct hit.

The shot was so funny and spontaneous, Jonez used it. And supposedly as a result, the non-speaking extra got an upgrade to speaking part, extra pay, and a SAG card. “WTF” is right, John.

Ding! Ding! ChromeJob gets the point. I'm glad someone recognized it.

New Blu-ray from Criterion. It looks about as good as it's ever going to look, considering that the original negative is lost to history and this restoration was cobbled together from three prints in varying states of decay. Unless someone miraculously discovers a pristine print hidden away in an archive somewhere, this may be as good as it gets.

I notice the forum is having some convulsions today. Maybe I broke it.

If the image (in beautiful gory color) is still not showing for anyone, let me know and I'll kick the cables.

Must-see in the unrated version like I saw in the theaters. During the one infamous scene which was cut to make it an R, I literally burst out in delighted laughter-horror in the Santa Rosa, CA, theater.

WTH, I know the attachment was in my previous post (visually verified), but it's gone today. A week ago the ability to attach a file was unavailable, must be some hi-jinks with the forum software.

The Deep, with Jackie Bisset, Robert Shaw, Nick Nolte [edit](and Nolte's Rolex watch). What, you couldn't find one of her infamous shots in a [edit] (wet) tee shirt?

That would've been way too easy.

Well done though sir. I think you now hold the record for fastest (correct) response.

Still one of the better adult treasure hunt/crime thriller type movies, with some beautiful location photography, and a nice score by 007 composer John Barry. Lou Gossett and Eli Wallach were also very good in this.

Nick Nolte was so studly in the '70s. Look at that 'stache.

That's not the tee shirt I was thinking of. In fact her white tee shirt should've gotten an on screen credit ("Miss Bisset's tee shirts by Hanes"); maybe they did. It practically inspired the poster art, I think. In some versions it's not clear that the artist gave the swimmer a bikini top (it's white, barely visible in some versions, but the right breast appears uncovered [I'd never noticed this before]). Film includes a gratuitous and chilling assault on her character. Screenwriter Tracy Keenan Wynn is son of Keenan Wynn, grandson of Ed Wynn.

(Poster from IMPawards.com.) Ah, 1977. Such a great movie for moviegoing, eh?

Correct! The kid is not a serial killer (even though he is in therapy for thinking about it) and neighbor Christopher Lloyd is... something else.

The 16mm color gives this one an interesting look.

That's Laura Fraser on the table, who I like lots.
