Hey, you got the point both times. You could be gracious in victory.

(Yikes. He used the same shot I have in my review. I got nothing but senior moments these days).

That's Ingrid Pitt in The Vampire Lovers.

My wife has become a huge fan of Peter Cushing in the past few years (the lady never ceases to surprise me LOL). I appreciate the film for Ms. Pitt's obvious charms. Thanks for posting!

Correct! Promised Land (2012)

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 95

Directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Frances McDormand, and Hal Holbrook. I was disappointed in the film and felt the issue of "fracking' or hydraulic fracturing to extract natural gas and other elements was not delved into sufficiently. With the screenplay written by Damon and Krasinski I was expecting much more. In the end it felt short on science, long on lukewarm drama and populated with too many stereotypes. It seemed like the producers didn't want to upset anyone. 6/10.

Hydraulic fracturing

Hey Nonny Nonny! I believe that's Joss Whedon's recent adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing.

Mini review: it's supposed to be a comedy. If you are a fan of Whedon and his crew then it might be worthwhile.

The title is naughty Shakespeare. A man has a "thing". What does a woman have? "No-thing". Ha-ha. Big joke. The play is about the turmoil regarding a bride's virginity.

He uses the same joke in Othello and a couple of times in Hamlet.

I'm not sure which specific movie it is, but that looks like Asta, so I'll guess The Thin Man. You'll probably tell me that it's one of the sequels, though, huh? smile.gif

A Christmas Carol, of course! Or Scrooge, if you prefer the British title. There's an unnecessarily colorized Tiny Tim.

Tiny Tim, enjoying his Christmas gin. Yes, that was sneaky, using the colorized DVD. I hear the Blu-ray is good quality, but I haven't seen it.

I was reminded of this title by someone asking for a Blu-ray release in the software forum. My only memory of this movie was the weightless sex scene with James Spader and Angela Bassett floating inside the spaceship bubble. Later I found out that their faces had been superimposed on another couple. Things like this happened in the very troubled production of this box-office bomb, in fact the problems with this film were more than I could have imagined and are nicely chronicled by writer Gregory Moss.

Supernova – feature review (July 11, 2013).

Mr. Moss sandwiches Supernova in between Event Horizon and Sunshine - movies with a similar premise - a bogeyman unleashed on an unsuspecting space crew. On the plus side the movie has a very interesting look and the set designs are nicely done. The anamorphic DVD was released in August 2000 with 5.1 Dolby Digital sound. Would I buy the Blu-ray if released? Maybe if the price was right, after all I also own the other two films mentioned. 5/10.

Thanks for posting the review - very interesting background. Watched it on MGM-HD some time back, the studio futzing shows but it still has some bright spots. The story behind the screen (and the talent involved) is telling. I'd be interested in watching a longer cut even it it didn't necessarily improve things greatly. Yeah, I'd buy a blu and let it sit next to Sunshine, Event Horizon and Saturn 3 smile.gif
