Since everyone is convinced this is Bruce Willis, it looks like "Hostage".

Right or not, Hostage is a severely under watched thriller with Bruce and a young Ben Foster that's worth at a minimum a rental.

Looky here!

I've been following this game for a few weeks, but the movies have been so old I have no idea. I'm glad to see a newer movie.

"Very deep is the well of the past" -- Thomas Mann.

We try to mix them up, but my interest is mostly older films and I use the contest to promote the reviews I post in other threads. So many classic films have become available in new editions that it is hard to resist showing them off.

Picking challenges that are challenging without being impossibly obscure takes some effort. We have a diverse readership here.

Brave man! Thanks for giving it a shot.

But... the edit distance of your answer is "2", meaning you would need two changes to match the solution.

This challenge has me stumped because of that first image. I feel like it should come earlier in the film compared to some of the others.

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

Well, as long as I'm giving hints, what we have so far:

7 - Isildur carries the One Ring away from Mordor
?
?
3 - bad news for Frodo
?
?
4 - at the Council of Elrond

That first image looks like the inn keeper at the Prancing Pony. That's pretty early in the movie. Maybe I'm wrong, though.

Edit distance = 0 ... which means ... EXACT MATCH!

Well, that was a gruesome challenge. Sometimes I don't know what's going to be easy and what hard.

The time index in seconds for each image:

7 0282 Isildur carries the One Ring away from Mordor
6 1061 Bilbo still at Bag End
2 2251 "maybe were the gold made hot again, the writing would be refreshed"
3 2320 bad news for Frodo
5 2887 Gandalf with Saruman
1 3556 Barliman Butterbur at your service
4 6035 at the Council of Elrond

And the unshuffled version:
