I didn't see a thread on this one, strangely, so I figured I'd do one. I had no idea what it was about, or if it was old or new or who was in it. It's just one I put on the Netflix queue via random associative browsing. After the fact I went and checked IMDB and it seems like it's not getting a lot of love, but either I was just in the mood or that was one of the best romantic comedies I've seen, and I've seen a LOT of them.

I can see why people might not get it. It's a little bit scatter shot in a way, but I laughed so much that I was about to break out the oxygen bottle, and it still managed to tug the heart strings pretty dang well, I thought. It ranges from slapstick silly to very sweet and a lot in between. I thought Jason Segal and Emily Blunt both did great jobs with their roles, and there are lots of smaller roles for people to pop up and get their punches in. I'm still laughing now as I think about some of the scenes while writing this.

Anyway, I don't see the need to 'splain it any more. I loved it myself, and recommend it to anyone who likes romantic comedies that lean towards the sillier side, but who isn't afraid to cry like a girly man here and there if necessary.

Maybe you just weren't in the mood.

Typically I'm a huge Jason Segel fan but just didn't feel this one. I do wonder if it would have been better if it was Paul Rudd instead?

I liked this one a lot more than I should. It was different, not your typical romantic comedy. It was daring and not afraid to go outside the box. It was longer than 1.5 hrs to really show the many layers of the characters and their evolution in their relationships. I nearly put this on never watch because of jason segal because I hated Forgetting sarah marshall but he was really excellent here and was perfect for the part so much so that I'm looking forward to seeing more of him the future.

I watched it again before sending it back and enjoyed it a lot the second time. A comedy is seldom as good after the first viewing when you know what's coming but I still really laughed a lot and enjoyed it a lot.

Oh, and I meant to also give an honorable mention to Alison Brie, who plays Violet's sister. Pretty much every scene she was in she really did a great job and was really funny.

I read the reviews on IMDb and Amazon, so I didn’t know if we would even finish it but thought we’d give it a try. Loved it! I can’t recall a movie where I had so many laughs from start to finish. Laugh out loud – a lot. Not that it’s Four Weddings and a Funeral, but that is what I though of several times when I was watching this. There are so many subtle one-liners that could slip by if you aren’t careful. I had the delay reaction several times, which makes this an easy one to watch again.

Emily Blunt with bangs – OMG! What a different look, and so sexy.

I really don't get why people were so down on it.
