^^^ Yikes! eek.gif That guy needs something to mellow him out. Melting a block of yummy Velveeta into a jar of salsa would give him a nice qeso dip! A few chips later, he'll be inviting his landlord over to watch 'Extreme Makeover'. Tears will flow. Friendships will forge. Thoughts of murder recede. They call it.... mellow-yellow. The key to world peace. smile.gif

According to Wikipedia, the name is short for Nabisco, even though most of the crackers aren't actually made by Nabisco anymore.

I had never heard of "Nabs" either. In our house, my wife and our kids always called them "cheese crackers," which included the peanut butter filled variety. Anyway, those things are good. Just talking about them makes my mouth water. smile.gif

Likewise. Cheese crackers had something for everyone in them. Something from the starch category, something from the cheese category, and something from the thiamine mononitrate category.

Nice with a director who likes 2D and scenes with just music.

Kosinski shot Tron Legacy in 3D, so it's not like he's opposed to the format. He just preferred 2D for this project.

I may be one of the minority but I just absolutely love Tron Legacy. I've watched it at least 5 times now and keep wanting to get a 3D TV just to see it again with the extra visual boost. Maybe with Gravity 3D I will have to finally make a purchase.

Tron was a perfect 3D candidate. But I like his reasoning about the different medium.

Add me to the list... For me the greatest science-fiction films are the ones that add a "poetic" dimension to the narrative. Tron Legacy had it, Oblivion even more.

Tron doesn't gain much from 3D, IMO. Very limited use of depth, even in scenes that scream out for more. The "disc war" and light cycle races are basically 2D.

Agree. I saw it in 3d and would rather have not. It muted the colors and not every scene was 3d.

Yup, loved the Wizard-of-Oz moment when Flynn pops into the grid and the picture goes from 2D to 3D.

The gimmick of the movie is that the opening scenes in the "real world" are mainly 2D, but the movie jumps to 3D when he gets to the Grid.

However, as I mentioned in a previous post, the 3D depth in the movie is extremely conservative, which pretty much ruins the effect.

When I saw it in the theatre (IMAX 3D), there was a disclaimer at the begining letting viewers know that portions of the movie were in 2D. The shot where Flynn first sees the recognizer hovering over him outside the arcade, the movie switches from 2.35 aspect ratio with muted colours in 2D to 1.89 aspect ratio with bright colours in 3D. Not something I'll forget (very noticable when all three things happen at the same time).
