A lady I work with is really into her religion. Everything is either God's work or Satan's work. She literally believes that when someone is being a jerk to her that Satan or a demon in the room whispering in their ear influencing them. Super nice and easy to work with despite talking about Jesus and Satan constantly though at least she's not one of the condemning super religious people. The manager did step and tell her she needs to dial a back a little lol. I've told her my music would give her a heart attack.

Anyway youtube links to crap that has my fancy:

Wow, even better is that Mourning Beloveth song. I was already loving it and then that section from 8:16 to pretty much the end of the song hits and I'm in heaven. I have to hear more from this band, very nice.

Ahh yeah! Skepticism rules! I can't imagine what that song sounds like on your system! My living room is rather small and I have two high excursion 12's with 800 watts a piece and it shakes the crap out my room. Love it.

Cool thanks. Looks like all the streaming sites don't have that album. I may have to *gulp* buy an album!

I didn't mean anything fancy (the floor), I meant a floor that has a level below it in the house. You get so much more bass feel through the floor if it is like this, unlike a concrete basement floor under carpet - which is what I have.

Google found a Spotify link but none of the songs play. Dunno if it's not authorized for the US or you need the premium service. I'm not sure since I don't use Spotify anymore or any streaming services.

Hah I Googled suspended wood floor and all the results were for floating floors so that's what I thought you meant.

A month or so ago I presented my findings of Getmetal.org's death metal category. After that somewhat disappointing adventure I swore I wouldn't go through something like that again. I certainly wasn't going to do this for thrash, because from what I've heard of newer thrash I thought every offering would be like "dit-diddle-lit-dit-dit-dit-diddle-lit" ad infinitum, and I generally prefer the brutal heaviness of great death metal. But since the thrash category was only a fifth the size of the death metal category I figure I'd start and see how long before I got bored. Well whatdaya know - a much more satisfying outcome. I've been buying thrash albums out the wazoo. They aren't all "dit-diddle-lit-dit-dit-dit-diddle-lit". And even some of the ones that are are super tight and worth listening to.

Here are the sub-genres I didn't even bother sampling:
  • Anything with atmospheric, deathcore, avant-garde, crust, or punk. Anything with the song titles in a foreign language.
Here are the sub-genres I almost always sampled:
  • Heavy, power, progressive, technical, death (if it was subordinate to thrash), blackened, crossover.
Some of these albums are very obscure. I have CD's coming from Belarus, Finland, Russian Federation and UK. And I've had to buy many off bandcamp.com (for extremely reasonable prices I might add). One I even had to torrent (for free) off the band's recommended site.

Since I've found a couple or few dozen that are worthwhile I'm not going to clog up the thread with them. I'll post a few and if anyone wants to hear more I'll post another batch.

OK, here's a few picked at random, but with a little variety of genres ...

(Thrash)

(Thrash)

(Blackened Thrash)

(Thrash/Death)

(Technical thrash)

Skip to 1:45 if you are impatient. Riff is repetitive to say the least, but who cares. I like too much of a good thing.

I'm digging the amputory and the monolord! Maan, that tone from monolord is a fuzz extravaganza, and I love it! Always on the look out for songs with wicked fat fuzzy guitar tones
