She literally believes that when someone is being a jerk to her that Satan or a demon in the room whispering in their ear influencing them. Super nice and easy to work with despite talking about Jesus and Satan constantly though at least she's not one of the condemning super religious people. The manager did step and tell her she needs to dial a back a little lol. I've told her my music would give her a heart attack.

Anyway youtube links to crap that has my fancy:

You had me at "Blackened" Thrash!!!.

I didn't even know that was genre, but how can those 2 words back to back not be a very good thing?

Wow, even better is that Mourning Beloveth song. I was already loving it and then that section from 8:16 to pretty much the end of the song hits and I'm in heaven. I have to hear more from this band, very nice.

Ahh yeah! Skepticism rules! I can't imagine what that song sounds like on your system! My living room is rather small and I have two high excursion 12's with 800 watts a piece and it shakes the crap out my room. Love it.

Cool thanks. Looks like all the streaming sites don't have that album. I may have to *gulp* buy an album!

I didn't mean anything fancy (the floor), I meant a floor that has a level below it in the house. You get so much more bass feel through the floor if it is like this, unlike a concrete basement floor under carpet - which is what I have.

Google found a Spotify link but none of the songs play. Dunno if it's not authorized for the US or you need the premium service. I'm not sure since I don't use Spotify anymore or any streaming services.

Hah I Googled suspended wood floor and all the results were for floating floors so that's what I thought you meant.

A month or so ago I presented my findings of Getmetal.org's death metal category. After that somewhat disappointing adventure I swore I wouldn't go through something like that again. I certainly wasn't going to do this for thrash, because from what I've heard of newer thrash I thought every offering would be like "dit-diddle-lit-dit-dit-dit-diddle-lit" ad infinitum, and I generally prefer the brutal heaviness of great death metal. But since the thrash category was only a fifth the size of the death metal category I figure I'd start and see how long before I got bored. Well whatdaya know - a much more satisfying outcome. I've been buying thrash albums out the wazoo. They aren't all "dit-diddle-lit-dit-dit-dit-diddle-lit". And even some of the ones that are are super tight and worth listening to.

Here are the sub-genres I didn't even bother sampling:
  • Anything with atmospheric, deathcore, avant-garde, crust, or punk. Anything with the song titles in a foreign language.
Here are the sub-genres I almost always sampled:
  • Heavy, power, progressive, technical, death (if it was subordinate to thrash), blackened, crossover.
Some of these albums are very obscure. I have CD's coming from Belarus, Finland, Russian Federation and UK. And I've had to buy many off bandcamp.com (for extremely reasonable prices I might add). One I even had to torrent (for free) off the band's recommended site.

Since I've found a couple or few dozen that are worthwhile I'm not going to clog up the thread with them. I'll post a few and if anyone wants to hear more I'll post another batch.

OK, here's a few picked at random, but with a little variety of genres ...

(Thrash)

(Thrash)

(Blackened Thrash)

(Thrash/Death)

(Technical thrash)

Skip to 1:45 if you are impatient. Riff is repetitive to say the least, but who cares. I like too much of a good thing.

I'm digging the amputory and the monolord! Maan, that tone from monolord is a fuzz extravaganza, and I love it! Always on the look out for songs with wicked fat fuzzy guitar tones

Quite the coincidence. I got a text from a friend last night that Sabbath is coming to KC next February. I've seen Ozzy twice but have never seen the inventors of Metal. I have to go.

Still loving their last album, 13.

I've seen ozzy either solo or with black sabbath about 10 times, and its always a fun show. It's unfortunate that bill ward isn't playing with them on drums, but it is what it is. I will say that ozzy's voice is shot, but it's still cool to be there

I'll try to give you some variety here. Let me know if you already knew some of these and if you like any of the ones you haven't heard. Couldn't quite limit it to 10.

Fear Factory - Shock or Edgecrusher -both actually and the whole album would be great - Resurrection (song 9) is slow but one of my all time favorites as it keeps building. The last minute or so of Resurrection "Reach for the Sky, Touch the Sky" etc. part will give you chills as the Othorn beats the hell out of you!

Katatonia - My Twin

Opeth - Grand Conjuration

Aeon's Black from band Aeon's Black

Epica - Illusive Consensus

Amon Amarth - Runes to My Memory

Kataklysm - Crippled and Broken

Omnium Gatherum - Green Eyes. Slow but catchy.

Susperia - The Bitter Man and the next song Anguished Scream

Susperia - Chemistry - the first section and last section of the song is too damn good. That finish that has the opening guitar part along with solo overlaying it - heaven, not to mention the bass is pounding... which is the point of this. The middle section of the song is ok.

Nevermore - Believe in Nothing

Monolord - Epress Rising - skip to around 1:30 or so, just recently found this one.

Nile - Sarcophagus

Within Temptation - Jillian - live from the Black Symphony album

Devin Townsend - Funeral - skip to around 1:00

The Vision Bleak - Elisabeth Dane

Strapping Young Lad - Love?

The video for Love? is great, Evil Dead theme the video sounds crappy (and almost all out of the left speaker) on youtube though so play the song from Spotify but you have to check out the video if you liked Ash and the Evil Dead movies.

Obviously you'll have to crank up the bass for metal compared to what you have been listening to, and some of these more than others.

Thank you Carp!! Loading up my Spotify playlist now.

Edit -- Monolord: I especially like. I'm listening on headphones right now and am ready to let that one rip on the big stuff. I found them all, but will take me a few beers and the house to myself to give them a proper session.
