Paranormal Activity, found footage type of thing. Could've shown a little more of the aliens. I really liked the alien expert smile.gif. Made it sound real creepy. I give it a B. You have to be into the Paranormal Activity fad.

About the ending though...
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
It guaranteed that a sequel was needed. If the movie is successful, it happens. If not, you're left with this cliff hanger, a distress call from...wherever they took him smile.gif. You almost HAVE to do a sequel.

IMHO, an extremely mediocre film. Was originally suppose to have been made by Spielberg some 20 years ago and he would have done a lot better, but decided on ET. As it was the actual movie seemed much longer than its listed running time. Some copy cat stuff from Encounters of the Third Kind, but not nearly as well done. Could easily be a box office flop, but hard to predict, given that Identify Thief is doing so well? If there is a sequel, I certainly wouldn't see it.

Only made for 3.5 million, so success is all but guaranteed smile.gif

According to IMDB, the estimated budget was $30 million. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2387433/?ref_=sr_2

Saw this recently. While it's actually nothing we haven't seen before, it is an excellent blend of sci-fi and horror; dark and somewhat bleak. It's exactly the way I like my sci-fi, which is the opposite of the typical Spielberg project. The open-ending certainly lends itself to a sequel which has a lot of potential to raise the bar.

I'd watch it again.

I watched it recently and enjoyed it as well. I was impressed with the reservation of CG and how well it was used when they did put it to use. I still prefer The Forth kind as far as alien abduction scare factor but Dark Skies was pretty solid.
