Just listened to some bond themes on Spotify and I noticed something weird with the song From Russia With Love.
You probably have to use headphones to notice it (which I did) it's around 1:03 into the song but if you start at 1:00 you should catch it.

Checked two different versions on spotify and checked with one on Youtube as well (didn't bother after that).

It's From Russia With Love - Matt Monro.

I won't say what it is unless no one else notice it biggrin.gif

Have checked some other clips as well and it's the same smile.gif

E.g.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcdmq07u2T8

At aprox. 1:03-1:04 on the left channel there is a faint sound that sounds like The Aracuan bird from Donald Duck - Clown of the Jungle smile.gif

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9dwyWVySMo

Have no idea if that is the sound but it does sound like it.

Probably a compression artifact, nothing more...

Could be but I doubt it.
Since it doesn't sound like an artifact, in only one channel and in several "sources".
I also doubt that both Spotify and Youtube use the same compressed result.

But I can't be sure of course.

Just listened to it on the 2008 CD "The Best of Bond...James Bond." It's Track 2, the Matt Monro version. There's no duck sound, no sound that shouldn't be there.

Whatever you're hearing is probably an artifact. I can't hear anything but the orchestra and Munro at that place in the song.

Just remembered that I got a Best of Bond CD from work about 7 years ago, it has the same error.
So this is not a compression artifact, at least there are some releases with this "error".

Posted the same question to a swedish music forum and they agree it's not a artifact.
What probably happened was that the studio dubbed the piano that are in the left channel at half speed on the tape-recorder.
Some technican or other said something during the recording (probably some miss configuration on the mixer board) and it ended up in the final result.
When that half speed recording is played back at normal speed it sounds like donald duck.
