My first TV infatuation, "love". (I think Janet Lennon was my second.) Always seemed like you could just walk up to Annette and easily talk to her.

Another bit of my childhood gone. Rest In Peace...

Those two and Angela Cartwright, of "Make Room for Daddy", for me.

Can't deny having a thing for Hayley Mills, too, but boy, she sure did change into her adulthood.

Sharon from the Mickey Mouse Club, was a good friend of hers and works here in town (where I get my hair cut.) Every great once-in-a-while, I'd ask her how Annette was doing. In the end, she was on constant round-the-clock care. A great, proper lady till the end.

Everytime I hear the name Annette Funicello, I think of that scene in Stand By Me, and it always makes me smile. As a kid I remember watching TMMC on tv back in the '70's when it was in syndication, just like a lot of other kids my age did. Why would jaded 10-12 year old boys of the disco era watch an old corny black and white Disney infomercial? Annette. Yeah she had that kind of power on a young boy. I can only imagine the spell she cast on boys in '50's.

Someone who's name always brings a smile to your face when you hear it will definitely be missed. RIP Miss Funicello.

RIP. Watched The Mickey Mouse Club just about every day, particularly on Thursday, when so much of the show was devoted to cartoons. I guess I thought Karen was cuter, but Annette had that certain something. A friend went to school with the Mousketeers for a little while. He had absolutely nothing good to say about Cubby O'Brien, but he said Annette was really nice.

Oh, yeah, Angela Cartwright. Then I'll date myself even more: Mary Heartline of Super Circus.

Also have to admit a big crush on Hayley Mills! Saw "The Parent Trap" over and over. Now I'm so old Maureen O'Hara (her mother in the film) looks good to me.

While we're talking about Hayley (enormous crush), let's not forget Pamela Franklin. Patty Duke, too.

No one in the 50's did anything for me, but if you’re going into the 60's, I always liked the older women: Mary Tyler Moore, Elizabeth Montgomery, Connie Hines (Mr. Ed), and Barbara Eden. Go big or stay home. smile.gif

My crush was Diana Rigg. She was the thinking man's sex symbol in 'The Avengers'. Very hot.

Can't forget the secretary from Hogan's Heroes. Didn't Bob Crane marry her or something?
