Yes, MONEY TALKS. I still laugh if I watch it. Smart dialog and his character is just a trip.

Heck yes it's going to be a master piece. Any time you have a big time director going back to his strength as like Scorsese doing gang dramas, R Scott doing Sci-Fi, J Cameron doing post-apocalyptic cyborg action, and Besson doing strong young debutante like TFE, Leon, and now this one you know it can only be AWESOME. Just how awesome we'll have to see

And looking around, it seems an apt prediction of how celebrity culture is tending. All style, no substance and absurd to 11.

Only thing wrong with the picture was that he was hosting a radio show.

Roger that. Right up my alley.

Just read the whole thread and was surprised to see so many negatives on Chris Tucker in TFE. I admit he irritated me the first ten or so times I watched it, but since then I actually really like him in it. One of the few movies that has almost unlimited watches for me. Just never get tired of it.

CT irritated me the first ten or so times, as well. The next 100 viewings just saw me hate him even more. The last 500 or so times I watched it, I'd learned how to tune him out.

Stephen.

Chances are very good that I was drinking when I posted the above.

Sounds like you picked the wrong movie to watch 610 times and quit sniffing glue. wink.gif

Nice job Waboman, you beat me to my own thread. Trailer looks spiffy, finally Besson is back in his "element" no pun intended. This genre like Leon, TFE is what he should be relegated to instead of experimenting around... this is his calling. It will most likely bomb at the BO cause the new generation would rather skip over this for 21 Jump St or Ride Along which is good for us as it will be on dvd in no time.

And this could easily turn into another multiple sequels like Resident evil franchise now that it has reached the end. With a title Lucy imagine the ease and novelty of naming the sequels...Lucy: Ruthless, A Fistful of Lucy, The Wrath of Lucy, etc

The regurgitation of the (totally false) "humans only use 10% of their brains" myth is annoying, but the trailer otherwise looks like the kind of stylish and cool action movie that Besson used to excel at. I am cautiously optimistic.

Gee are we talking about Lucy now.......................... ok then. As much as I like Scarlet I don't think these roles are meant for her.[no pun intended] She was terrific in that one even though it was just her voice. Anyhow, i'll be back when I actually seen it.

You've been around here for quite a while, now. You've read posts on this forum long enough to know that on average, 10% is actually being rather generous.

If that annoys you, what is your reaction when you see on screen "based on a true story?" For example, Zero Dark Thirty.

After Lucy maybe we'll get that sequel to Leon...

Scarlett Johansson is set to lead Luc Besson's Lucy, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter.

Besson will both write and direct the sci-fi action tale, which follows a young woman who gains super powers after being forced to work as a drug mule. But the drug instead goes into her system, giving her superpowers. She can absorb knowledge instantaneously, is able to move objects with her mind and can't feel pain and other discomforts.

Johansson, who last year appeared in both Marvel's The Avengers and Hitchcock, will next appear in Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut, Don Jon. She's currently in production on her third outting as Natasha "Black Widow" Romanov in Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Besson, best known for films like Leon: The Professional and The Fifth Element, will release his latest, Malavita, on September 20.
The Fifth Element is my favorite movie and HD reference demo movie, hopefully his will keep within those standards.
