Track 12 - Gone with Ioanna Gika
Normally i'm not a fan of Celtic style music but the female vocals on this track are startling. Very beautiful - but dark.
If you have a nice stereo system, this track is a must to try. It also sounds very good on all 5 speakers with PL IIx.
I like it so much i will buy CD and rip to FLAC.
I was tryin to think of other recent artists that reminded me of Iggy, and Anthony Kiedis of the Chili Peppers was really about the only one that came to mind. The Peppers generally have more of a funk influence in their music though than Iggy.
I saw them a couple times during the 80's. At that time, their style was sort of a blend of funk (George Clinton was big in the underground scene in those days), rap/hip-hop, and punk rock. Not sure what the guys look like now, but Anthony wore a kilt, and not much else on stage, which probably helped to draw a fair number of females to their gigs (much like Iggy's striptease act), in addition to the usual moshers and hip-hoppers. They were pretty interesting to watch.
"Just the beer light to guide us"
"Making love with his ego
Ziggy sucked up into his mind
Like a leper messiah
When the kids had killed the man i had to break up the band."
You just don't get **** like that these days. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Ziggy played guitar, jamming good with weird and gilly
And the spiders from mars. he played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man, then we were ziggy's band
Ziggy really sang, screwed up eyes and screwed down hairdo
Like some cat from japan, he could lick 'em by smiling
He could leave 'em to hang
They came on so loaded man, well hung and snow white tan.
So where were the spiders while the fly tried to break our balls
Just the beer light to guide us,
So we bitched about his fans and should we crush his sweet hands?
Ziggy played for time, jiving us that we were voodoo
The kids were just crass, he was the nazz
With god given ass
He took it all too far but boy could he play guitar
Making love with his ego ziggy sucked up into his mind
Like a leper messiah
When the kids had killed the man i had to break up the band.
Ziggy played guitaarrrrrr

I'm sure many would agree with you. Another pretty good anthem written by David...
"I'm a dude, dad."
