I'm sure many of you are aware of the demise of old small town movie theaters. Some of the Hollywood studios are saying they will soon completely stop producing movies on 35mm film meaning all of their releases will be digital. That means that movie theaters will need to ensure they can handle movies in the digital format. That is not a problem for the big multi-cinema movie theaters that can afford the upgrade. But it is a different story for the small town movie theaters.

The Priest theater, in High Springs, FL, has been around for over 100 years. It is one of those family-owned small town theaters that is not equipped for, and cannot afford the digital conversion and could soon be unable to show new movies as a result. They are trying to raise money to upgrade to a digital projection system so that they can continue to offer movies in their small town. Please take a look at the Kickstarter link below to read about The Priest theater and consider helping by either contributing yourself or passing along to those who you think can help! Thank you!
