Picked up this album yesterday. Wow! Best album I've heard in a LONG time. The sounds are undeniably Daft Punk, but completely different from any of their previous work. They truly differentiate themselves among others in today's sea of ubiquitous "pop" electronic tracks, many of which have been "inspired" by Daft Punk's previous albums and all of which sound the same. The production on even the lowly redbook CD is amazing. Clean, tight bass, super dynamic, black background etc etc. The making of the album has been documented over 8 webisodes available on the RAM site. They were so focused on perfection that they used 3 microphones (1 from the 70's, one from the 80's and one modern) just to record a SKIT so that any possible differences (if any) among the different generations of mics would possibly create a sense of time lapse. I can listen through the whole album all day long. It's happy music. Why can't all the electronic music on the radio be this good? Best ten bucks I've spent.

Agree that It is an awesome, fun album but wouldn't recommend a blind buy to anyone who hates the word DISCO.

As much as I like Daft Punk, I really don't like this album. I don't like that sound, old school disco, old school funky guitars, early synths, early 80s... What I don't like is not really what they actually did, which is well crafted, but the whole style they chose. The album seems like a wink at a lot of things that people apparently will find "cool", but not me.

I won't say I dislike it, but I'm not a huge fan of the old school sound either. I think I'll listen to it a few times, but that will be it.

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

I've been listening to MP3 download for the past couple of days but finally found a copy on vinyl today and it's incredible. A bit pricey but worth it.

Meh. Ruined by whoever is crooning along on that song. Panda Bear? Don't know him/her/them: all I know is that whatever they contributed to that song kinda sucks and drags it down.

It's OK, but not my favorite for the summer, or even the album for that matter. To each his own, though. I'm must glad Daft Punk is putting out some music again!

Someone called Daftside remixed the album. Pretty cool stuff.

Panda Bear is from the magnificent band Animal Collective. And no way man, Panda Bear MADE that song. Freaking amazing, and definitely best album of the year. Top 5 at the very, very, very, very least. Guaranteed. Just wait til the end of the year when all music sites announce the best of's.
