I'm looking forward to this.... a lot of my favorite Joss Whedon actors. And I just love Amy Acker

Another pointless movie and "much ado about nothing."

From the link above:

But instead of taking his wife on a 20th-anniversary vacation, he decided to spend his 12 days off shooting this year's summer film: a microbudget, modernized, black-and-white version of Much Ado About Nothing, filmed in his own Malibu backyard (and kitchen and living room).

Then again, it could be a little gem. Nobody was expecting much from Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog and it was gosh-darn wonderful. smile.gif

Highly recommended! Josh and his brother and their "company" of actors did Dr. Horrible on a lark, as an experiment in webcasting. But get the shiny disk where you can gorge on the whole delicious thing in one sitting. I'll just go ahead and say "you're welcome" in advance. wink.gif

Kenneth Branagh's version from 1993 was wonderful. I highly recommend that those of you who haven't seen it see it before this new one comes out.

For me, the jury is still out on this one. On one hand, Whedon and Shakespeare seems an odd combination and modern dress versions of the Bard's plays haven't usually done much for me. On the other hand, Joss Whedon has proved to me at least that he is a creative genius and has done it on multiple occasions. I'm going to have to think about it.

This project came about because Whedon regularly gathers his cast and crews together for Shakespeare readings during downtimes on his other shoots. He's been doing that for years.

Yeah, I enjoyed the trailer too. Still, as noted in my earlier post, I have been generally underwhelmed by Shakespeare stories set in the present day. I'm still going to wait to hear what a few folks who are brave enough to see it early on have to say.

Sounds fun. Nothing works better than a gang of friends getting together to do something. I'd pay the miserable $8 to $10 to see it more than I would Superman or some of the other blockbusters that are coming out this summer.

This looks very interesting... The big challenge will be to absorb and appreciate the Shakespearean dialog at the pace with which I'm sure it will be delivered. I can see myself pausing and repeating a lot of scenes...

Which is why it's better to read the Bard.

Yeah, but Whedon is one of the modern masters of language style for the visual medium, so I think it will be very interesting to see how the Bard's words combine with his direction of the actors.

I think you mean Person of Interest. She was only in one episode of Grimm. I watch that show and frankly don't even remember the episode.
