I have a number of those films in my collection and I agree with you Aliens he is the best actor for his generation.

No, Philip Seymour Hoffman is/was.

But Leo is up there. I still think Gilbert Grape has his best performance.

I guess I am Switzerland where Leonardo DiCaprio is concerned. I agree that he is more than a competent actor and God knows he is good looking but his whiney voice hurts him. Because of that weakness, he simply can't make language soar as, say, Michael Fassbender is able to do. That said, DiCaprio has been in a bunch of films I liked. But then, so has Tom Cruise, another better than competent actor with a whiney voice. smile.gif

PSH wasn't bad but I still believe Leo is on top.

IMO, their acting skills overcome this weakness.

Season 1??? That is implying that there are going to be more. Is that true? Hope so, TD was an awesome show.

With regard to the other recent comments about Leo, I agree 100%. One of my favs, no doubt about it. The dude ALWAYS delivers. I don't think there is a single movie of his that I dislike. With regard to MM, he has certainly turned his career around hasn't he? Going from what seemed like thousands of rom coms to Killer Joe, True Detective, Dallas Buyers Club, etc was a surprising transition. I've always like him, but didn't realize he had this much versatility.

Reign of fire is great. Good cast too Bale, Butler and MM. It also had hot chick too that travelled with MM at first

I thought MM was great in the tough guy, absolute leader role in ROF.

+1. He was even joking on the Graham Norton Show about his rom com posters (in an interview from last december I think). He also said he simply looks at his career like different chapters of the same book... This show is hilarious btw!...

re: first season. The next season will take place in California with 3 new leads according to Nic Pizzolatto. ...I need to watch this one fast!

I'm a little surprised he hasn't picked up a big action franchise by now...he certainly has the chops.

wink.gifwink.gif Double winks back at ya. I've owned that flick since it came out. Now that you mention it, it may be time to revisit it.

Just listening to him talk about his career and profession, I don't think he's terribly interested in that. Guy's a master thespian! You know he's had to have gotten lots of offers for that sort of thing.

Well, they did try to cast him as Dirk Pitt from the Clive Cussler books...

Oh, wait, more like George Clooney's role in Gravity where almost all dialogue was through communication device which sounds like little transistor radio. Bingo!!!

Thought I would point out for the fans of this film that the blu-ray is $10 on Amazon right now.
