'Gravity' was one of the earliest announced Atmos titles (within months of 'Brave' being released).

As Joe Kane was mentioning, there wasn't a lot of UHD hoopla at this CEDIA. Don't expect something like those formats (or DTS MDA) until UHD specs. are ratified.

Listen up, studios! Just say "NO" to DNR and EE!!

Datasat and StormAudio announced that the Datasat RS20i and StormAudio SSP 16-3D PrePros would support Auro-3D decode capability "soon".

Some Auro-3D encoded concert material is already available on BDs that use a technology strategy developed by The Pure Audio Group (link) which permits easy switching between several versions of the same recording on an audio-only Blu-ray disc . . . the RED GREEN BLUE and YELLOW buttons on the BD remote are used for selection.

SOUVENIR by TrondheimSolistene on the 2L label (link) and Portrait by Joseph Haydn on the MDG label (link) each offer significantly different (playback) versions of the same recordings (including with|without height speakers) . . . as the respective BD back covers show:

SOUVENIR by TrondheimSolistene...

Portrait by Joseph Haydn...

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v80), quality = 90

The L2 website indicates additional Auro 9.1 discs are in progress, and MDG appears to continue exploring the Aurophonic 8.0 2222+, aka 2222plus, configuration (as well as Aurophonic 6.0 2+2+2, aka 2-2-2).

No word yet about Auro-3D encoded movie BDs . . . or whether the likely format might be 9.1, 10.1, or 11.1...?!

No word yet about mass market priced Auro-3D decoder equipped AVRs or PrePros...?!

cool stormaudio is 16 channel Auro3D for 13k smile.gif. I'll wait another year for integrated. Hopefully 11 channel built in amps will come out by then too.
