I really look forward to seeing this. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, with a current rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz are brilliant comedic parody with endless replay value, so I never had my doubts.

Watched this two weekends ago, and really enjoyed it. Pegg and Frost are great, as usual, but I thought the other guys were also up to the task. The story starts out great, and then takes an unexpected twist. Frankly, I'm not sure if the twist really added that much to the movie. I enjoyed the first half of the movie just as much as the second. The dialog is filled with they typical witty banter, along with the typical sharp barbs.

It was a fun ride, and I'm sorry to hear that this is the last feature in the Cornetto trilogy. I'd rank it second, right behind Hot Fuzz.

With luck, the three of them may come up with another trilogy in the future.

Hmm, while it didn't ruin the movie for me, I did like the first half more. Yes, everyone knows a Gary, and that was part of the charm of the movie. He's the only one that hadn't changed in the past couple of decades, and you can feel the contrast and tension between him and the grown ups. I also like the satire of the beginning, especially the commentary on the interior of the second pub they walked into. All of that felt very relatable to me.

By the time of the twist, I was more invested in them as characters than the plot. For me, that was the strength of the movie. The rest was all fine, but the interplay started to draw down as the movie went on.

Gary was too sad and pathetic to "charm" me.
Ultimately, as in real life, he became annoying.

The message of the movie is dumb is cool.
IMO, it ain't.wink.gif

I would have to agree. Watching this movie once, was one time too many, but that always depends upon the preference of the viewer. Good thing that it could be fast forwarded through. This is one BR that I wouldn't take even if it were free.

I didn't mean Gary was charming, rather that the interplay between the very different characters (all with roughly the same background) was the charm.

Well, that was really the second half of the movie, wasn't it? At the point of the twist, it really had a chance to give us a different message.

Entertaining, none the less.

I love Shaun and Hot Fuzz. But this movie just didn't do it for me. Didn't really care for the characters. I did fancy a pint afterwards.

I thought it was OK. The actors were more convincing in the first half of the movie. When they tried to enter the action phase it got a bit wonky. Still a very enjoyable with wacky British humor.

I was a bit bummed. I really liked both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. This movie failed, IMO. Watch Red 2 instead.wink.gif

Yeah, I had read some reviews that put it between Hot Fuzz and Shaun. No where near either of those. Had some funny bits, but over all not as inspired or well written as the other two. Even Rosemund Pike, who normally adds alot to these kinds of flics, was blase.

In the beginning it wasn't too bad but then it went down hill from there.

It's frustrating when it's funny it's really funny but when it slows down the life just drains out of it.

"Bring out yer dead!".."Wait I'm not dead yet!"..(Sound Austrian here) "WRONG !!" (You know what happens next..)
