F1 is viewed as a snob sport in the USA. Is it correct? Maybe not but that's how its viewed. Just like Golf was 20 years ago. In my city the F1 fans had a shuttle to the track to avoid traffic......in helicopters. If that's not a snob sport I don't know what is.
There are snobs in every sport. If someone can afford a better mode of transportation, does not make him/her a snob. Have you ever attended or watched a formula 1 race? I have attended numerous races, including NASCAR and F1. I cannot arrive in a helicopter or even a Ferrari. Racing is racing no matter the vehicles. Each has a different appeal. I would not belittle F1 or NASCAR. Just different strokes for different folks (as the saying goes).
P.S. My favorite is the Canadian F1 in Montreal. The people I meet there during F1 week are not snobs. Many are cities all over the US and Canada.
