This film did the sport justice showing the good and bad sides to it. I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of recognition. The movie doesn't demonize either Lauda or Hunt. It just presents them as they were, while embellishing their disdain for each other for dramatic purposes. That's one of the reasons I like it so much. Lots of grey between the black and white
I could not agree more.
Did anyone notice the little homage to Days of Thunder? I think it was at least. The first race where Lauda and Hunt spin, they playing Spencer Davis' 'Gimme Some Lovin'', which reminded me a lot of the montage in DoT near the beginning when Cole Trickle (Cruise) starts his first few races in Nascar (same song, similar cinematic feel).
