The movie was interesting, but the simplistic and heavy-handed sociopolitical themes really did pull it down.
The setup and beginning were handled really well, and set the stage for what was to come, but I'd have to agree with dragonbud0 that it started to come apart at the second jam.
It was interesting that the star of the movie (Marling) played an infiltrator to a fringe group in this movie, while playing the leader of a fringe group being infiltrated by an investigator in Sound of My Voice. Both movies started out with really strong premises, but fell apart at the end.
The acting was solid, all around, as was the direction. The characters were well-drawn, and believable.
It was flawed, but worth a rental.
