This trailer doesn't highlight the humor (which mostly fell flat in the 1st trailer) and that is a good thing.

Here's a funny clip from the Jimmy Kimmel show. A 5 year old takes on the cast in a Guardians trivia contest.

The trailer has changing aspect ratio, so it will take advantage of the IMAX screen.

I'm going to love it just because everyone hates it. Or do I hate it because everyone else likes it? Crap. Which one is the way that makes you cool on the internet?...I can never remember.

Up to 25/0 now on RT. But, one review starts off with this:

"Part George Lucas..."

Guess I'll wait for it to hit network tv.

The trailer to me looks like it drew much inspiration & ideas from The Watchmen. You know, an oddball group of superheroes who find themselves joined together by their unorthodox ways of fighting crime vs to what is your normal superhero such as Superman or The Avengers. I can see a lot of similarities between Watchmen & GOTG, and this should be a fun ride as well.

I'm no huge fan of the comics and think The Avengers is way overrated along with the Iron Man flicks but this GotG looks fantastic in every sense of the word. They had me when Pratt rolled up the middle finger in the first trailer. Good stuff.

Down to 97% on RT. Hardly seems worth it now. Maybe I can find a theater that's still showing Earth to Echo.

You hate it for the reasons the masses love it, and you like it for the reasons they, well, you know...

Oh man, I can't believe it will be August this weekend. Where the heck did summer go? It's 2/3 over. Looking forward to you and your shorty's thoughts on the armed raccoon.

Saw it at a screening last night. People were laughing so hard, I couldn't hear most of the follow up jokes. A group of older folks with us said that they should have advertised this as a comedy. This was, by far, the most fun Marvel movie. I don't really have any complaints about it except for the lack of downtime for the crew to really hit lines off each other. Also, there was no stinger in the press screenings.

Interesting comments about this playing like a "comedy". I read a review stating the opposite, that they're heavily marketing the comedic aspects but the movie is anything but. I guess it's all relative.

Is anyone else worried about how much they're promoting this movie? Usually, this much promotion doesn't bode well for film quality.

I've yet to see it, but a "tree-dude" and a walking, talking raccon smells (a little) like comedy to me. And it's usually the lack of promotion that means film suckage.

I watched Guardians Of The Galaxy this evening in my country and it was an enjoyable ride.

Stay to watch a very short (funny) scene at the end of the credits.

Having watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Guardians Of The Galaxy, it'll be awesome if Marvel Studios were to let HYDRA and Thanos join forces. The Avengers team will be in big trouble haha.

Actually, it's the opposite. While, it's true that sometimes they'll try to sell you a turd with extra marketing, usually heavier promotion is an indicator that the studio is confident in their product.
