Some really good titles had been mentioned and mentioned in the link of the original message.
Here are some additional titles that I came across, though in some cases may be more of snow than a blizzard:
Misery (1990)
Chasing Ice (2012)
The Great Race (1965)
The Thing from Another World (1951)
Ice Station Zebra (1968)
March of the Penguins (2005)
Fargo (1996)
Dead Snow (2009)
The Home Alone franchise.
But since a coming snowstorm and terrorists are both in the news, Die Hard 2 seems the best fit.
Not so much a snowstorm as trapped on the ice with no escape. Pretty good story. I'm sure some people in the NE will feel like this when they run out of beer after a couple of days!
Whitewash, with Thomas Haden Church. Events precipitated by a snowstorm are fundamental to the movie's plot.
Well received critically, not so much by the general public. I quite enjoyed it.
