London Has Fallen

Prepare for bloody hell.

Quote:
After the British Prime Minister has passed away under mysterious
circumstances, all leaders of the Western world must attend his funeral. But
what starts out as the most protected event on earth, turns into a deadly plot to
kill the world's most powerful leaders and unleash a terrifying vision of the
future. The President of the United States, his formidable secret service head
and an English MI-6 agent who trusts no one are the only people that have any
hope of stopping it.

Always feel that they just push it to far these days. Not even trying to make it realistic.

Did anyone else go see this?

What a huge letdown from Olympus. I really enjoyed that one. Much better than this piece of crap.

Don't pay to go see this in cinemas. Catch it for free on cable or streaming.

Not recommended.

I saw it last week and didn't bother commenting on it... Disappointing. I too enjoyed Olympus quite a bit, this one was more of the same, but not as good as the first one. That's too bad, I like Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart and the first one felt like the new Die Hard... If there's a third film I hope they find a way to redeem themselves!

I wouldn't go that far, but I never want to see it again. Just lots of action and well done in that respect. In other words, very high production value that shows up on screen. Unfortunately, the lead actors aren't good enough to carry the movie on their own, probably because they are too busy trying to stay alive, going from one jam to another one. If something can go wrong, it certainly will in this movie, until the inevitable ending. Should be more than enough violence for most folks, some of which is not exactly subtle. Available via Netflix disc.

Meh. Wasn't even good action. The whole thing looked like low budget, straight to dvd (or streaming) garbage. Idk what movie you saw.

I didn't say that I liked it. It was better than OK, but would have received rave reviews if it were made twenty years ago. As it is, the stars are too busy trying to stay alive and the script doesn't give them much chance to act. Both are more than competent actors, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see a movie because either of them happened to be in a movie. Frankly, I am tired of these action movies. So which action movies would you rate at an "A" level?

Well I don't know if I'd give Olympus Has Fallen an A, but at least there was a better balance of action v. emotion. We need both to relate to the characters, it had much more intensity than London Has Fallen. LFH felt lifeless in comparison, just action and nothing else.

Lol, I never said anything like that or compared it to other movies other than the first one....which was good. This isn't.

This just sucked. Wasn't good action and it looked awful too. Previous chemistry between characters/actors is now non-existent. Everybody else that isn't the two mains is strictly limited to sitting around a table and not really needed whatsoever where as before they were interesting and useful characters.

I've seen better Uwe Boll movies. For real.

Watched it last night. As action flicks go, I loved it. Great shoot 'em up movie. Action-wise, it was superior to the first Olympus. I don't watch many movies more than once, especially action flicks, but I'm considering buying this one. There are only two guys who play great tough guys in today's flicks, and Butler is one of them. Great audio effects too, although the dialog was a little strained in places.
