Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) - June 2017

The film is scheduled to be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on June 2, 2017. Patty Jenkins (Monster - 2003) is directing the rare female-helmed superhero movie. Starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Lucy Davis, Connie Nielsen and Robin Wright.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Woman_(2017_film)).

What I came away with after viewing the Batman v Superman movie last Sunday was a renewed interest in seeing the upcoming WW movie. Trailers were posted on Youtube last January. Photo posted on Entertainment Weekly.

Woman Woman? Must be DC's lesser known island princess.

This looks awesome... and it's great to hear her theme from Batman v. Superman at the end. Can't wait!!

Well...either way I'll be seeing this opening weekend with my 5-year old daughter. If the future somehow ends up based on the empowerment of our youth via cinema, then the current crop of badass female characters has me feeling optimistic for her.

yeah, this second trailer is just as good as the first. I will be there, opening day, butt in seat. My wife, on the other hand, who is one of the world's biggest Wonder Woman fans, is not happy with the casting of Gal Gadot in the titular role and she is less than enthusiastic, even with how good these trailers have been...

She doesn't need it because she flies like Superman and Supergirl does these days.

This is gonna be great!

I really think Man Of Steel and Batman v. Superman (extended cut) are genuinely good movies and I love the fact that DC, in a way, wants to stay away from the Marvel formula. They have too imo, otherwise their own universe will always be seen as a pale copy of Marvel's. And please keep Ben Affleck as Batman, his portrayal has been widely praised even by the most ardent BvS detractors. I would even argue that DC's current Bruce Wayne/Batman/Ben Affleck combination could do to "DCU" what Tony Stark/Iron Man/RDJ did to MCU, assuming the movies do his character justice (no pun! )

Man of Steel is good(ish). BvS...not so much. Just my opinion, not trying to start a convo about it. But the common denominator between those films was the presence of David Goyer as the writer. He's gone now. And was never anywhere near Wonder Woman, so I am optimistic about that movie. Unfortunately Goyer is trying to worm his way back as writer of Green Lantern, which angers me to no end as Lantern is my favorite Superhero of all time. (I didn't even mind the last Lantern movie they did)

70mm IMAX 3D. The 3D is post process - not my preferred way of seeing a film.

On the Wiki page for this movie I read:

Quote:
Gadot underwent a diet and training regimen, practiced different martial arts and gained 17 pounds of muscle for the role.
Which I was glad to see because in the Fast and Furious films she was just a tall drink of water.

As cool as the visuals look, the one nagging concern I have about this movie is about Gal Gadot.

She looks amazing as Wonder Woman, but I somehow find her diction distracting. For me, she looks better in still pictures, or moving about on the scene silently - until she opens her mouth and tries to act. Her performance in her recent movie with John Ham was achingly bad.

*Cautiously optimistic for this movie. I really want it to be great in all aspects.*

Some more clips.

I'm pleasantly surprised by Gal's acting at 5:55. She has great screen presence and a lot of natural charisma in real life, but her relative inexperience had my expectations fairly low for any dialogue/emotion heavy scenes. It looks like she's going to knock it out of the park.

B-roll/behind the scenes.
