Alien: Covenant - 2017

This film has been discussed elsewhere but it's time for its own thread.

Release date is now listed as October 4, 2017 but it has changed several times already.

Can't find the link but a few days ago, I saw some images of outdoor props with broken statues and charred bodies.

Here's some links to cool Alien: Covenant stuff. I'm really looking forward to this film.

Noomi's back!!!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...us-role-904810

"In the upcoming Alien: Covenant, she will reprise her Prometheus role of Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, who was one of the few survivors of Scott's 2012 sci-fi prequel.
Scott had previously stated that Rapace's Shaw, despite working hard to escape certain death, would not be in Covenant. Now, it appears that plans have changed.
The actress is joining franchise newcomers Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston and Danny McBride, as well as her Prometheus co-star Michael Fassbender, who will be returning as the android David."

There is no way I miss this film now

I think we've been gotten by the PR department or director Scott on the previous rumor where she wasn't going to be in. It kept the attention going.

If she is really in, it could be Luke Skywalker type of role in SW - TFA.

That news actually made me feel the opposite to you.

I thought Rapace was good in Prometheus. But I was looking for more of an Alien movie vs a continuation of Prometheus and having Rapace in the movie brings that Prometheus vibe back.
(I was fine with "David" being in Alien Covenant since he was easily the best thing in Prometheus).

She's good in everything. No debate.

...The best thing imo would be if it was both a continuation of Prometheus and an Alien movie (...yes I did like Prometheus )

Danny McBride? Really? WTH. Comedy relief?

Guess I'll give him a chance but I'm not too enthused on this casting choice.

Yeah, give him a chance. I thought comedian, Paul Reiser, did a pretty good job in Aliens.

My guess is that he will be playing something similar to Parker, the chief engineer (of the ship) played by Yaphet Kotto in the original Alien.

Looks like more of a horror theme like the first film, rather than the "high concept science fiction" misfire of the last one.

I'm afraid this may just be an action flick devoid of depth.
Based on what's shown in that trailer, the planet David & Lizabeth crash landed, has condition very much like earth. No breathing apparatus needed to be outside and no protection against germs or any other possible airborne particles when walking around.
Another thing, it's not chest buster anymore. It's the back buster now (just to be different?).

I predict a flop movie.

Well, David gets his Lawrence Of Arabia moment at ~ 1:00.

I don't get it though. David (head unit only) and Liz took off in duress and team up with these guys?
