The Lego Ninjago Movie in Dolby Vision HDR and Atmos Sound

The Lego Ninjago Movie looks great in Dolby Vision and sounds mostly great in Atmos, though the dialog intelligibility is sometimes rather poor.

You didn't mention 3d so I'm guessing it was 2d where you saw it. This is one of the very rare times I would choose 3d over Dolby Cinema if I had to. There's maybe 5 movies in the last ten years that I consider are worth seeing/must-see in 3d, and two of those are the Lego movie/Lego Batman. The faux stop motion CG actually looks fantastic for these films, like looking into a huge real life Lego diorama. They still have quite a bit of dimensionality in 2d, but they are worth seeing in 3d if possible.

You're right, it's being shown in 2D at Dolby Cinemas. I can see your point about the Lego movies being good in 3D, but I still prefer HDR. If and when you see it in 3D, please post your impressions here!

My mistake; I thought it had been out for a week already. I'll update the article. Thanks!

Thanks Scott!

I got the Lego Batman and it's a family favorite. I'm getting this one for sure. Oh and I love playing with legos again after 40 years.

This is one of those movies that I would say if you can see it for free go for it but if not then wait to rent it. There was a few moments where I was close to falling a sleep... ^^;;
