Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon R3 has proved to be so popular that it may have become a victim of it's own success. With numerous Oscar nominations the hit Ang Lee film has been increasingly praised around the world.

If you have read our review you'll know that it is an essential purchase.

Sadly it now appears that Columbia/Tristar is finally taking a look at the selling of the excellent R3 disc. Whilst there have been continual rumours of distributor ERA failing to deliver volume shipments of the disc the latest rumour from four separate sources including vendor Movietyme is that Columbia/Tristar have had enough of the exporting of the R3 to the USA.

The rumour is that a new shipment of CTHD will arrive on R3 in mid-March minus the English Dub and Subtitle tracks. This is supposedly to protect the R1 and R2 releases in late June and October respectively.

ERA has also increased the trade price of CTHD so you'll probably see a price hike across the board from the sites that use. A quick scan this morning across our favourite HK Sales sites revealed a number of Out Of Stock/No Refill Schedule messages.

I've got my CTHD R3 for about us$17. The picture and sound are very good. We don't have the 'out-of-stock' problem here in Thailand. You can buy it whenever you want.
We've got the 'english 5.1' and 'mandarin 5.1' soundtrack in the disc too.Of course, in clude English subtitle too. The only complaint about this DVD is the lack of special feature.
Will there be any 'collector's edition' or 'special edition' of this movie?
I'd like to see 'the making of' or 'behind the scence' very much.
