Since I was just a youngen at the time when this was in theaters and after years of seeing it chopped up on commercial and cable TV, I really enjoyed seeing this movie uncut on my 110" FPTV wide screen. I have to say though I was a little disappointed in the transfer in regards to dust or fibers being caught in the transfer equipment. There were at least 2 times where I spotted strings of dust at the edges of the screen. Maybe this is not as noticeable on your standard TV set but it was disappointing on the big screen. I also noticed 2 parts when the movie combed. I am assuming this is due to flags set improperly on the DVD. I don't remember where the first one was but the second time was at the end of the movie when Clint is shooting the cannon.
Did anyone else notice these problems? Are my expectations off in regards to dust? Can't they clean the film and transfer equipment better to ensure that dust is eliminated prior to transfer? Don't you think that they would QA the transfer, especial on such a classic film, before the final transfer?
Other than these small issues, it was fantastic to see this classic movie as close as I could make it to the way it was suppose to be seen.
