This quirky "western" of sorts will finally be put on DVD! Look for its release early in September of this year.

The flick will feature an anomorphic transfer with 5.1 sound...but little else (that's MGM fer 'ya!). I preordered my copy already. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

What a year for movies!! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/eek.gif

Yes I agree, it's also one of my favorite Westerns.

I'm not too sure it will have a 5 channel Dolby track, I have been informed elsewhere, that it will only have a 2 channel track.

Doug,

You could be right; no 5.1 channel soundtrack may make it to the DVD...

But so long as the "stereo," 2-channel soundtrack sounds as great as the laserdisc PCM version does and there are image visual improvements forthcoming, I'll be a happy camper! http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

It also contains my favorite Basil Poledouris Music Score.

It should look and sound great as I heard that it has been remastered for the DVD.
