EVENT HORIZON (Anamorphic Widescreen, DOLBY DIGITAL 5.1)
Subtitles : English, Chinese, Korean, Thai.

No idea if it's any good, but www.************* has it listed (currently out of stock).

They also have: TRUE LIES and the original PLANET OF THE APES anamorphic. No idea of they are true 16x9 or 4:3 upconverts, but it is well known that FOX created a 16x9 HD transfer of APES 2 years ago.

Hi,

Titles in RC2 (!) anamorph which are letterbox in RC1:

Paramount: Trueman Show, Event Horizon, Hunt for Red Oct.
Fox: Planet of the Apes

all of them include English and German DD 5.1 and subtitles. Quality is quite OK (no upconverts.)

Yours,

Philip

I wouldn't call The Trumanshow just OK, it's one great transfer!

I have heard conflicting opinions about the R2 Event Horizon, some say it doesn't look any better than the R1 while others say it's much better?

Roland,

It does look better, that's for sure.much less EE than the R1 version (which was unbearable), but still too much IMO.

Do you guys know if there might be a Superbit version of this DVD? I have the LD and am TOTALLY happy with it, especially the audio. I would consider getting a Superbit release if that would ever come out.....

Peace....

Hi,

I would have loved a Superbit Event Horizon. The flick is one of my alltimes favored sci-fi horror. When I saw it first at a local cinema, some scenes were so shocking, I nearly threw my Popcorn to the ceiling. I would at once buy a new version.

Yours,

Philip
