In your own opinion, what was the worst DVD in terms of PQ only for 2006?*

*Bonus points for specifically stating WHY.**

**Super bonus points and kudos for stating why and referencing timeframes as examples.

I thought "Ricky Bobby" looked like ass, the whole entire thing. I had no issues with the audio.

Superman Returns (Widescreen 1 disk Edition) - This is one of the worst transfers I've seen since some of the very early DVDs back in the 90s.

Talladega Nights and Superman Returns definitely were some of the worst DVDs for PQ in 2006.

Although I thought MI3 looked pretty good on my setup.

Superman Returns just has bad photography. That's not the same thing as a bad transfer.

UMD is currently running a show called Parasite made in 1982 with a young Demi Moore.

It might be the worst PQ of any movie ever made.

I respectfully disagree. I think the grainy, dark appearance is what they were going for in the first place. Hence the reason why the outdoor forest scenes are then so colorful.

I must, however, STRONGLY agree on the poor transfer of "Superman Returns." I remember being blown away at the theater when I saw this...then having to squint or completely readjust my picture settings to see things when watching the DVD....unacceptable.

How is it that Lady In the Water did not make this list? To date it's probably the worst transfer I have seen. It had so much noise that I nearly had to turn it off.

I agree. There is so much blockiness and pixeltation it almost ruined the movie for me (the movie wasn't that good anyways.) Absolutely terrible transfer!

Actually, Lady in the Water had a very good PQ on my system. Definitely not the best PQ I've seen, but overall not bad.

Narnia. For a big movie like that the transfer should have been done with at least some care. Instead its very soft and filled with halos and EE.

I never noticed that about the Narnia transfer. Guess I'll rewatch it and see. I remember the picture being quite nice.

You can say that about any Disney live action DVD, unfortunately.

Xmen3 looked identical to the way it did in the Theatres, so how you can say it had the worst DVD quality is beyond me...

The whole X-Man series still makes me convulse at the repugnace of it. What could have been a phenomenal and epic tale of a bevy of age-old and adored heroes simply turned out to be 3 wasted films with 6 hours of instructional video with bad acting on how to use a backscratcher.
