Which movie has the best shootout scene; the outside the bank shootout scene in 'Heat', or the last 30 minutes of 'The Kingdom'?

ONLY FOR MEMBERS WITH BOTH MOVIES!

I vote; 'The Kingdom', best shootout scene in years.

I agree Heat all the way.

I saw the Kingdom last week and really enjoyed it. Very glad to have it in my collection. But I'll be honest, I didn't even think about a "definitive" shooting scene in it until I saw this thread. Now that I look back, yes that was a bad-a** shooting sequence, but there's no comparison to Heat.

Also, just looking at it from the perspective of the actors involved....you're talking about DeNiro, Kilmer and Sizemore vs. Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner.

The shooting scene from Heat (I assume you're talking about right after the heist in the middle of the movie) is pretty damn legendary. The one from the Kingdom is good but blends with many others.

Blu-ray = 775

I loved The Kingdom besides it was produced by Michael Mann.

Shootout ---- "Heat" > "The Kingdom"
Story Line --- "Heat" > "The Kingdom"
Direction ----- "Heat" > "The Kingdom"
Acting ------- "Heat" > "The Kingdom"

Both great movies, but "Heat" is legendary! I wish the story line lent itself to a part two, but...

I disagree here:

Shootout ---- "Heat" > "The Kingdom" (sure, but like a 10 vs 9.5 :P)
Story Line --- "The Kingdom" > "Heat" (Heat might have been better if was shorter)
Direction ----- "Heat" = "The Kingdom" (hard for me to say, both are decently directed)
Acting ------- "Heat" > "The Kingdom" (agreed, better caliber actors and had the dream Pacino vs DeNiro matchup)

I just saw this... It was a great movie but the end wasn't all that impressive, maybe because all the reviews and people hyped up the ending that I was expected to be blown away only to be disappointed. I did watch Band of Brothers recently though, now that had some intense shootouts.

Loved The Kingdom..quite unexpectedly..but come on.. Heat takes the title easy.. I mean, The Kingdom shootout is awesome.. but Heat was still crazy stuff.. Though The Kingdom comes VERY close especially the part of the freeway..

The Kingdom was cool but Heat absolutely wins that comparison.

Though I'll vote for Heat as well, at least based on my recall, I'd say the Kingdom sequence is a worthy comparison. I like Heat better as a movie on the whole but Kingdom deals with more pressing and realistic issue as well, but I digress.

If you count the fight scene (J. Garner) as an addendum to the shootout I may have to do an A-B comparsion for pure intensity.

Heat hands down. the good thing about Heat was the sustained gunfire. The Kingdom was awesome, storyline wise, however Heat wins in the shootout category.

Heat > Miami Vice > The Kingdom.

I saw all three of those movies at least twice theatrically.

Pattern = Mann > Berg

I haven't seen heat in a long time but Face off had some pretty great shoot outs, especially at the hide out.

+1 ... Heat is by far my favourite movie of all time for several reasons. I probably see it once a month. I really hope it makes it to Hi Def even though I only see a marginal difference in PQ, I would just want the extra bandwidth for the sound for that shootout... ooooh I get chills thinking about it.

This really isn't even a fair comparison, Heat beats out Kingdom in all categories, imo.

The Kingdom was garbage. End shootout was nothing to be excited about. Heat's shootout during the heist is far far better and intense imo. I can still hear the gunshots that resonates through the streets of LA.

but.....Hard Boiled anyone? That movie is a action filmmakers guide to action.
