I am in the market for a rear projection HDTV (~50 inches). I have searched high and low for a buying guide that has an objective rating of several models to help me sort out the models at Best Buy etc. (a la consumer reports, which unfortunately only rates TVs up to 36 inches).

Any good sources? Is Sony really $500 better than each similar sized Samsung, Toshiba etc.?

Thanks

inmy experience sony is not worth the extra cost, its the name youre paying for. the toshibas we sell are equal to the panasonics, are equal to the samsungs, are equal to the sonys...BUT the daewoo, symphonics, and sylvanias of the TV world are NOT created equal. ive got the panny pt47wx49...i like it

Mitsubishi's are focused on big screens and make a great product imo. I have the ws55809 and it rocks.
