WGGN Update:

I eMailed, and got a reply from GM Rusty Yost, from WGGN:

"Yes, our main transmitter is off the air.
Last Friday the power tube in the transmitter failed.

We hope to be back up to full power by tomorrow evening,
or no later than Thursday morning.

Thanks for your patience and we appreciate you contacting us.

Feel free to contact us anytime you experience reception issues.

God bless."

Please list all channels you hear this on.

I do recall I might have heard this on a station before. I'd hafta do an AVS4'um search.
Right now, just 5.2. Also heard it through my neighbor's TWC.

I would if AVS had some kind of audio upload feature. I'm not going use a 3rd party hosting site.

25.2 went 16x9 at the same time as 25.3 & 25.4, but reverted back after a day, probably because most programs on that channel are in 4x3. Watching 25.2 right now in 16x9 and the picture is stretched.

Newer is not always better.

I noticed some e-skip last night... Channel 4 - CJCB out of Nova Scotia with the CTV logo and some other Channel 2 which appeared either Mexican or Central American (perhaps double-hop e-skip), but I wasn't able to get an ID. The program was "Pare de Sufrir", which is what the logo is at the bottom left.

Here are the videos of the unidentified station...

Also got this one too. I was a bit upset that it didn't decode. That signal was not consistently high. It was fluctuating wildly...

Cuba is coming in on analog TV right now here in Akron. I just checked channel 3 and between the fading in and out, I saw two guys playing guitar on the "Al Mediodia" program on Cubavision. Bismarck, don't bother checking because I'm sure Cuba has a null in your direction.

Sometimes WEWS briefly breaks up every 10 or so minutes. Other times it comes in fine, but with a much weaker signal. Even my uncle has been having problems with WEWS, and he's much closer to the towers then I am. This breaking up has been off & on for 2 weeks now. Is WEWS' transmitter dying? How is Mark Johnson suppose to scare me if he keeps breaking up? Heck, even W16DO's 10 kW class A signal out performs channel 5's 1000 kW non-direction signal, and it hasn't pixelated on me once since signing on.

And does WEWS not care if 5.2 snaps, crackles & pops in the audio? This has been a problem since day one when 5.2 was activated for Live Well. I've contacted both them and the COZI network about this problem and never got a response from either of them. It's also heard on my neighbor's digital cable, so it's defiantly a problem with WEWS.
My reception of COZI on 5.2 was bad the other day. Ironically 5.3 was fine. They must be having issues receiving the COZI feed at WEWS. I also get COZI on FETV via Dish Network. They had no problems with break-up. On 5.2 COZI had long stretches of black screen. I presume the popping noise you report may be related.

WGGN is back on the air.

My DigitalStream DTX9950 is dead again.

Time for the hot-gun.
