This says WDLI and WRLM both have post-auction Channel Sharing agreements.

So are BOTH sharing with WVPX??? Won't that look nice.

WAOH doesn't so it is toast.

20 might work, but don't know all the rules for LP stations.
Correct on WCDN-LD, but can't answer the others off-hand.

That means they are interested in channel sharing, not that any agreements have been reached or signed.

Well, there goes my reception of WKBN. I can get WYTV with a direct antenna connection, but my reception is problematic since it's on the decoding threshold.

It's shocking that they would sell a powerhouse like WKBN and that they would keep the very weak WYTV. Not to mention the atrocious PQ of running ABC/Fox/CBS on the same signal.

I also find it shocking that NBC sold their NYC flagship station (WNBC) and will apparently channel-share on their co-owned Telemundo station.

It's possible they'll try to increase height/power on WYTV once all is said and done, though we can't know that at this point.

Hopefully. It is 1000kw but very, very directional with only a 580 foot tower (where WKBN is over 1400 feet)

Amazing what some of these bidders made in the large markets. Trinity made over $300 million on one station in Chicago (I think that is the largest one). KRON in SF made 77 million just to move to HI VHF (which isn't that much of a handicap compared to Lo-VHF). NBC made over 200 million selling WNBC

Locally:
WRLM got almost 38 million
WDLI got 31.6 million
WGGN got 12 million to go to the electrostatic pit

Hurray... my blowtorch WDLI disappears!! Less overload and more DX for me. I'm also glad WKBN sold rather than WYTV. I have no problems getting WYTV and any DX over it. Now we just gotta wait and see where the LDs end up clogging more channels.

It's too bad the CFPL/WOIO situation will still exist. Sorry about your luck Bismarck.

Why not just move WYTV's antenna over to WKBN's tower. Both stations are owned & operated by Nexstar Media.

WYTV is already operating at the maximum 1000 kW.

Newer is not always better.

Besides updating their encoders, maybe WOIO can spend some of that 32 million getting a translator out Bismarck's way. Assuming there is any channel left to put it on.

Other than the WOIO/WUAB channel-sharing situation, very pleased how this all turned out. Thought we would lose many more channels.

Looks like all the area channel moves are in repack Phase 4 (which I believe is 2019) except W16DO (which is phase 10 - the very end in 2020). So (other than the stations going off the air) nobody is moving for at least 2 years.

I just briefly caught a banner on 5.2 about the switch to Grit. Wasn't able to read the entire message as it disappeared right before it repeated.

Depends on whether it passes an interference test and whether they want to do it.

Why would WYTV even care to upgrade? Nexstar obviously didn't care, or else they would not have sold the stronger of the two stations. And besides, why does it matter? WYTV doesn't intend to broadcast to Cleveland or Akron. The Youngstown DMA is very small. They don't need a 1500' tall tower.

Nexstar owns it now, but Media-General owned it at the time of the auction. Additionally, all the money goes to the shareholders of the former Media-General.

So, exactly when do these stations that sold spectrum go off the air like WAOH and WDLI? Sorry if this was covered before here, I am newer to forum.

If they're channel sharing, 6 months after receiving their money. If not, 3 months after.

Not much was mentioned about WIVM, WIVN, WIVD, and WIVX. Which channels are they going be relocated to?

Did WOUC go to Channel 6? If so, how long does La Mega 87.7 have to stay on that frequency, if anybody knows?

None of the channel moves locally are happening until mid 2019 at the earliest. WOUC might be far enough from Cleveland that LaMega can stay (especially since one is digital and one is analog).

None of these are Class A stations, so they are not part of the auction. Obviously WIVM and WIVX need to find new channels since 39 and 51 will be in the wireless band. WIVN can't be on 29 with WNEO there. Ditto for WIVD on 22 due to WVPX.

Not sure where any of them will fit on the new shrunken band.

WLFM-LP has to move off channel 6 to accommodate WOUC, as far as I'm aware.

Wonder if Media-Com will spend some of that 1.8 million they got for WAOH to upgrade their antique equipment and add some subchannels? Like COZI on 16.2

WOUC moves to RF6 in Phase 2, which is about a year and a half away.

See chart on Page 20.
