I've had a Sony KD-34XBR2 for about a month. Recently I've noticed that I get a single bright white dot about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom in the center of the screen. It appears whenever there is a dark background in that area.

I would suspect a bad pixel, but here's the weird thing: the anomaly only shows up on KCET HDTV broadcasts. I don't see it on any other HDTV channel.

Is anyone else picking up this anomaly on KCET? I need to know whether I need to have my dealer exchange this 300lb monster.

Thanks,

Burt

If it only shows up on one station, I would bet you could safely assume it's not your tv.

Sort of like if your car had a bumpy ride on one road. It would not be the car.

You might contact the station and ask them. E-mail works too.

Thanks for your response.

I had left a message on the KCET engineer's voicemail. I just got a very pleasant return message. Turns out they have a bug in one of their digital units. Apparently, it periodically throws out a signal that produces the anomaly. He said all it takes is a reboot. Should be fixed today. They are not on the air yet, so I can't check. The engineer said they were going to "have a talk" with the manufacturer.
