Question for those that know:

Watching CBS HDTV broadcast and was wondering why the broadcast shows like CSI have a lower grade picture than the HDTV commercials they run. The commercials are absolutely pristine in overall look and while CSI or other shows look good they are not as high resolution.

Thanks

1. The CBS HD commercials are designed primarily to look as good as possible and are shot using HDTV cameras.
2. CSI is shot with 35MM film and image quality is not the number one concern.

Perhaps CSI contains just as much resoluton but it doesn't show up on your display because the highest resolutions have a sufficienly reduced contrast that the display doesn't resolve it.

Did IQ's suddenly drop sharply while I was away?
I enjoy 3D in spite of HDMI 1.4!
Full screen only 3D doesn't cut it!
