Sorry for another "local" thread, but since the new forum hasn't been rededicated yet...

I just wanted to check with other PDX people before I called the station (well, I tried to over the weekend and no engineers to be found). Are others having fairly regular signal breakup with KGW? I'm getting a full strength signal and then it will just drop off almost entirely. Happened all weekend and still this morning. Enough that it makes it worthless to even try to watch their news. No probs with any other stations.

I had reception issues while trying to watch the basketball game Sat. Didn't have time to try to see if it was a problem on my end or theirs, but haven't had reception issues in a long time, and the weather was clearly not the problem.

Hopes it's them and not the tree leaves

You know, it's always been interesting to me how the signals can go right through a wood roof with asphalt shingles, but flimsy little tree leaves can cause problems  In my case other than the big cedar tree that's pretty much directly in the way and doesn't seem to cause probs, there's no others in that direction. Still haven't heard from the one engineer I left the vm for.

The engineer I usually talk to at the station Eric Dausman has been out of town at the NAB convention this week. Got ahold of Walcott Dempson(sp?) and shot the breeze with him for a bit and explained the current situation yesterday afternoon. Last night and this morning the signal seemed to be holding steady again so it looks like he was able to locate and fix the problem.
