Jeff Clarke is moving from Houston to SF. According to the article:
"I'm a strong proponent of digital and high-definition television," Clarke said yesterday. Not only would the new technology make the television picture clearer, he said, but "you can use the digital spectrum to break content up into multiple streams."
Actually, he's exactly correct. KQED is currently multicasting an HDef stream on 9-1 and a 480i stream on 9-2. Plenty of bandwidth to do both. I've got a tool to dump the streams and see what they're sending exactly. I haven't done that yet, but I'd guess that the HDef stream is 720P.
