This is a big step for the area. Figures they would only have Fox and NBC. You know all that HD on Fox and NBC!

Thanks for the link Ted.

hmm.. sounds like that mandate to the cable corporations might actually have done something. I noticed that ATT is in my area from their numerous leaflets but I thought it was for cable internet. Oh well, hopefully its for both.

Looks to me that it only covers the areas that already have WBBM-DT on it.

Big Deal

Another scam brewing for more money?
Seems strange since the article mentions the need for a special digital cable box at $10.95 a month when we are receiving CBS HD now without any cable box at all.
As a matter of fact, if you run the feed through any cable box, you do not get CBS HD.

Just spoke to someone from AT&T.
For people who subscribe to their digital package, (who already have a digital cable box) this HD Box will piggy-back your current Digital Cable Box. The HD box is needed in order to get the HBO and Showtime HD programming.
The configuration of having CBS-HD through your own HD STB will change. You will need this HD Cable Box for any HD programming.

Since when is Fox providing HDTV content? I thought the standard was to be called HDTC it had to be in 760p or 1080i, not 480i or 480p. Doesn't matter to me anyway since our system, along with most of Lake county hasn't bee upgraded to 750Mhz anyway.

That's what I was also thinking about FOX. They chose to include FOX and NBC, but not CBS and ABC.
Who made those decisions?
Probably not an HDTV owner.
