Can anyone suggest what type of attena I am going to need to try and get local chicagoland HDTV broadcasts? I live in an apartment and I can't be putting up 10' attenas.. So is it possible to do it?? I currently live in Naperville. Does it matter which way I mainly face etc... ??

Try the cheapest and simplest first. That would be the RadioShack double bowtie which goes for about $17.00. If that doesn't work, Rat Shack (which has a liberal returns policy) has an amplified indoor antenna that works for me (I'm about 15 miles from our local transmitters). You may have to move the antenna around until you find the strongest signal. Many find that 6" up, down or in any direction can make a big difference in signal strength. Go to www. antennaweb.org to see where you are in relation to your transmitters. Good luck.
