This is not a new DVR. This is nothing but the HR34 with a new name and a firmware update to include the Genie feature. This DVR has been available for about a year now, I’ve had one since February. Those that download the CE beta firmware on their HR34s have had the Genie feature for a while now.

Time Warner Cable – Signature Home Premium View w/Epix, Sports Pass, HD Pass, Spanish Tier, Cisco Explorer 8642HDC, Cisco Explorer 8742HDC Both Running ODN 7.3.0_29
DirecTV – Premier, HD Extra Pack, NFL ST Max, NHL CI, MLB EI, Whole House DVR, HR34-700 Running 0972, HR24-200 Running 0802

I just signed up for DirecTV today. Had reps at Sam's Club plugging the Genie and they ambushed my Wife and I. Is it good? I'm coming from Time Warner Cable/Tivo Premiere so I don't know anything about all of the different HD-DVRs and such. Hoping we made a good choice at getting the Genie. Thanks in advance.
