Anyone know how to stream Big Red games?

I have taken my Dish subscription down to the absolute minimum. The only reason I am keeping it is for HGTV for my wife and Comedy Channel (for the Daily show) for me. I am going to keep it there until September and then up it back up enough to get ESPN and Big 10 so that I can watch Nebraska football. But if there is a way to stream games (PPV?) I will probably keep it at the minimum.

Any ideas on alternate ways to get the games?

Probably all of Nebraska's football games will be streamed this year, either on BTN2Go.com or ESPN3.com. Unfortunately, you must be a paid subscriber to the respective channels in order to stream them. CBSSports is carrying the Fresno St. game; I know that their website sometimes streams CBS (OTA) games live but I'm not sure if they stream CBSSN games.

Basically, you will be out of luck except for OTA ABC games unless you know a subscriber. This is how college football rakes in their money: TV rights.

That's what I was afraid of. Looks like I will be keeping Dish through the season. Thanks for the reply.

The Journal-Star's Jeff Korbelik tweeted today that KSNB will be replacing WOWT on 6 and 1006 on Time Warner Cable. WOWT will go to channel 83. The change happens Monday.

last time they did negotiations, it got ugly.

Cox was known to not been thrilled that KETV had a subchannel in Omaha people actually watch (aka meTV)

(compared to WOWT and KMTV and KXVO 's .2 channels which are subchannels that have no viewers and no good stuff on)

side note

Luken should buy up the un-used 25.1 digital broadcast station if they can

in Omaha since 3abn has not intention of using it.

better something than nothing on 3abn IMo

Mike and Molly is coming to KPTM 5 days a week this fall (seen promos for it)

Ellen is moving to KETV

Meredith Vieira Show I think is going to WOWT

Walking Dead is airing on 42.2 aka My Network TV

Hot Bench (judge show created by Judge Judy) is likely going to air on KPTM (not sure)

Bob's Burgers will be on KXVO late at night

Like you already have been told, the only way to legally stream the games is to subscribe to the appropriate channels and use their streaming service. If you know somebody that trusts you and would not mind you using their login you could try that route. I use my parents cox login to get HBO GO and have no issues. Whatever you do, I srongly advise against using the pirate free streaming sites that can be found on the internet. These sites are known to be carriers for malware that could get you into trouble.

Anyone else wondering why MeTV has MeTV Montana stuff not MeTV Omaha but in the lower right corner it says MeTV Omaha tho? I have not watched MeTV Siouxland for a while to see if it is the same way.

Edit: MeTV Siouxland or Sioux City does say the right thing.

Edit 2: They got it fixed. Now it says MeTV Omaha.

===NEW CHANNEL===
Last night I noticed that Lincolns ABC sub channel 8.2 changed form Live Well to the new GRIT channel playing movies. I get this channel in OMAHA.
-
This is so much better than Live Well. I hope Omahas CBS sub channel 3.2 dumps Live Well and picks up something better like Retro TV or Antenna TV, basically anything but Live Well.
-
Seems like the Sub channel contracts all end this time of year, anyone know of any other changes coming?
Trip in VA's Avatar Trip in VA 11:19 AM 08-21-2014
Live Well will no longer exist after January 2015, so no need to worry about whether it will vanish from KMTV, only what will replace it.

Also, look for the new "Escape" network to appear on KLKN 8-3 at some point.

Live well going away is great news.
Hope KMTV picks a good channel and also adds guide data to Dish for over the air.
8.2 has guide data
here is info on the two new channels

Anyone else in Omaha experiencing high amounts of pixelation on certain Cox channels this past week? This is happening on my Tivo with cable card, Cox HD receiver and even their OTA signal. Hoping I don't have to place a service call. It is happening on multiple sets so it isn't a hardware issue involving the cable card or STB from Cox.
HDMI Guy's Avatar HDMI Guy 10:21 PM 08-25-2014
KFXL is back in HD on Time Warner Cable.

Switching between Directv NFL Sunday Ticket broadcasts and the local affiliates, you can really tell we are getting short changed when the local affiliates use up their bandwidth with subchannels.

I have to wonder how many people actually watch the subchannels.

I very often watch 6.2 for the weather. But it is always just for a few minutes in the morning with a cup of coffee. But that is it. Most of the rest of it is pretty boring. I wondered the same thing.

I watch ThisTV and MeTV too many times for some reason. That could be because I like the classic TV shows.

Lincoln & North Platte news:

GM out at KNOP and Gray will be taking the station in a "different direction".
http://m.nptelegraph.com/news/televi....html?mode=jqm

Gray also acquired the domain name nbcneb.com on June 19. Presumably, that will be the new Gray website for KSNB. The current KHASTV.com domain is still operated by a Hoak partner and hosted by KDS Internet in GI.

Especially when many of subchannels are only distributed by cable. Dish and Directv don't carry them. The only reason ME-TV is on Directv is because of its My-TV affiliation as a "network" affiliate. Then not many people watch TV via OTA antenna. I heard one time only 14% of the people don't have satellite or cable.

KHAS was sold for 75K...per northpine.com

The sale price of now-silent former NBC affiliate KHAS-TV/5 (Hastings) is $75,000, according to a document filed with the FCC. Legacy Broadcasting, LLC, is buying the station from Hoak Media after Gray TV assigned its right to purchase the station to Legacy. Gray separately purchased KHAS-TV's programming, equipment, and other non-license assets and hired all of its staff, moving NBC programming to its KSNB/4.1 (Superior). Legacy's purchase only includes the license, a transmitter, and transmitting antenna; it will rent tower space from Gray and change KHAS-TV's callsign. Legacy Broadcasting is owned by Sherry Nelson and Sara Jane Ingram of Mississippi and Charles Harker of California. Harker also owns or operates all of the network affiliates in the Greensville, Mississippi, market where Nelson is VP and General Manager

The KHAS to KSNB "NBC Nebraska" rebranding took place today. nbcneb.com is live and from job postings on 10/11's website, the stations from North Platte to Lincoln will work together as part of a "Nebraska Weather Network".
