I've picked up a indoor One For All Periodic Aerial, and having problems getting any reception at all. I know indoor aerials are a bit naff, but according to the survey I'm only 1-2 miles away from a transmitter. I've tried to use the phone transmitter app and also copied where the neighbours aerials are pointing with no luck. It says on this site Log periodic aerial is suitable. I'll be asking a pilot to check I'm pointing to the right bearing (phone is way out)

So it should pick up something. I've tuned to channel 44

Would I need a external aerial for a transmitter just 2 miles away? For Field dBµV/m it says 69

The discussion here is generally about US-based reception. You probably need to find a UK-based forum for best assistance.

Have you scanned/programmed for channels? Not sure if you are digital, but there are "real" channels that conform to the numbers that we are all so familiar with, and "virtual" channels that is what the station wants to call itself. Scanning for channels accounts for this and may get you some results. I think you should get something at that distance. Good luck.

The OP is in the British Isles, not North America....

He/she will need to follow the directions for his/her local equipment.

Realize that, but most equipment works about the same.

Just tried it on the Panasonic TV, it says strength 8/10 but signal quality 0/10. I guess that strength also means amplified noise? taking the aerial back.
