I have a weekend place on Lake Morton near Covington, WA, and since I'm only here about 10% of the time I don't want to pay for cable. I installed an HD stacker made by Winegard on the peak of the house, about 30' agl. I receive 4.1 and 7.1 perfectly, strong signal as indicated on the TV signal meter. I also receive 11.1 and 13.1 without any problem. Any idea why I can't receive 5.1?

If you're receiving a channel 4.1, I'm guessing that your channel 5.1 is coming from a different city than the others. Nowadays the numbers are purely symbolic, but back when they were assigned to actual frequencies, the FCC wouldn't assign adjacent frequencies in the same city.

Directional antennas aren't perfect, and can have some very strong side lobes. That's probably how you received signals form multiple locations. Since it's a vacation place, you probably need to re-aim the antenna. Chances are that weather has turned it enough so it's no longer on its sweet spot.

HD Stacker is a special HiVHF/UHF combo antenna made by Winegard for Denny's Antenna Service. But actually 2 separate antennas with the UHF yagi stacked on top of the VHF antenna.
